Last week, I wrote about go-to outfits and how it can make getting ready so much easier. Apart from having a go-to outfit every season, I also have several shoes that I like to wear often. I sometimes choose an outfit based on what shoes I want to wear.
My shoe requirements are a little different than most because I have really bad plantar fasciitis, which feels like a stabbing pain in your heel. I can only wear shoes with significant arch support and cushion, which isn’t easy to find. With that being said, I try to buy ethically made shoes when possible, but I haven’t found too many options.
I always feel an internal struggle when I purchase an item that isn’t ethically made because of how passionate I am about seeking fair treatment of workers. However, I try to remind myself that I am striving for progress, not perfection.
These three pairs of shoes are my go-to shoes this fall. They are comfortable, perfect for rain (if El-Nino happens) and versatile.
Dansko Clogs– Although most Dansko shoes are made in China, these clogs were made in Italy, which makes me feel a little better about my purchase. I bought these clogs because I heard Dansko is pretty great for people with plantar fasciitis.
Vionic Nadelle Boot– Again, I have special feet that are susceptible to pain. These boots have an orthotic footbed that feels like heaven on my high arches. I’m assuming these boots weren’t ethically made since there isn’t any information on the website.
Dolce Vita Boots- These boots are my dressy boots for fall and winter. I love the chunky brown heel that contrasts with the black leather (you can see it better here). I bought these at a second hand store last year.
What are your go-to shoes for fall?
