How to Pack Less for a Trip

With wedding season around the corner, I can’t help but be nostalgic. I wish I could do it all over again, especially our honeymoon. We stayed in Spain for 19 days and loved every minute. We visited Madrid, Barcelona and Ibiza so we were constantly on the move. Knowing how to pack is a skill, my friends.

The week before our wedding was sheer chaos. We closed escrow on our house, finished wedding favors and packed for our honeymoon.┬áNeedless to say, I didn’t have too much time to pack.

My first step was picking 2-3 outfits I knew I wanted to wear. Two of my outfits were blue (no surprise there) and the third was orange. I used blue and orange as my color scheme and picked clothes, shoes and accessories that would complement those two colors.

I didn’t pack 19 outfits because I knew I could use all of my items interchangeably. Sticking to a color scheme with added neutrals makes packing 100 times easier.

This is what I packed:

2 pants
1 skirt
3 blouses
2 shirts
6 dresses
1 tanktop
2 shorts
1 bathing suit & coverup
1 button down long sleeve
1 cardigan
1 lightweight utility jacket
1 scarf
1 sandal
1 wedge
1 mid-heel
1 flat

Sticking to a color scheme will hopefully make packing easier for you! You can decide to choose one main color with added neutrals as well. I wouldn’t add more than 2 colors because then you start packing too much.

Do you have any tips for packing less on a trip?

p.s. All of my shoes are from Aerosoles! Gotta love them comfortable shoes when walking everywhere..
