Several weeks ago, I wrote about how I’m working to find alignment this year. If I’m being honest, I probably do 1 thing on that list everyday. There are days where I’m happy with that 1 thing, but I always wish I could do more. Story of everyone’s lives, right? Sidenote: I went to the gym on Sunday for the first time in over 6 months, and it was heavenly. Self-care really does wonders for your mood!
Anyway, the number one thing I’ve stuck with since that post is getting ready everyday. It doesn’t always happen in the morning, but I’ll consider it a win if it’s before bedtime. The second thing I do more regularly is listen to podcasts. I usually find time while cooking or driving and man does it pump me up. There’s something about listening to personal growth and business advice that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
I started listening to podcasts two years ago when Serial was all the rage. Since then, I’ve found several podcasts that have been, dare I say, life-changing.
If you are looking for life-changing wisdom:
Listen to Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations. She’s interviews some of the greatest minds like Deepak Chopra, Tony Robbins, and Eckhart Tolle. And the one thing every one of these minds recommends? Meditation.
If you need to listen to your intuition, but having a hard-time getting there:
Check out The Lively Show. The first couple years of The Lively Show were geared towards creatives and entrepreneurs who made decisions based on their intuition. I remember listening to her podcast in 2016 and getting the courage I needed to listen to my intuition and start Sotela. The Lively show is a bit different than before because she rarely does interviews anymore. Jess is mainly focused on guiding people to live their best lives through alignment and the law of attraction.**Think The Secret, but a way better version of it.
If you want business advice:
Listen to Jenna Kutcher’s Goal Digger Podcast. Jenna talks about everything from social media marketing to how to create better content, she outlines it all for entrepreneurs. After listening to her podcast, I find myself motivated to do more for Sotela.
If you want to learn more about ethical fashion:
The Conscious Chatter podcast has it all. Kestrel interviews leading ethical fashion companies and influencers to shed light on a budding industry. Sustainable fashion is such a new concept that it is interesting seeing what some companies are doing to mitigate their environmental impact. My goal is to be on Conscious Chatter soon 😉
If you love hearing how entrepreneurs got their start:
Listen to How I Built This. It’s so easy to forget that big companies like Eileen Fisher, started from scratch. I know I get caught up in the comparison game and forget that everyone had a similar start. It’s encouraging hearing that entrepreneurs go through ups and downs regardless of their success.
