Sotela’s best-selling item this season is…..drumroll please… the Papaya Shorts! Probably isn’t much of a surprise there, but we’ve sold over 120 Papaya shorts this season.
They are a workhorse in my closet this season. I love that they are simple yet classic without being overly restrictive in the heat. The weight of the linen keeps it from sticking to your body, which is perfect when dealing with sweat!
I styled the Papaya shorts six different ways below!
Outfit 1: Life’s a Beach
Going to the beach this weekend and need an outfit to keep up? Or do you want to secretly pretend you are going to the beach? This outfit is perfect for any weekend activity and can be worn with a swimsuit. Layer the Pomelo on top for color and added sun protection!

Outfit 2: Faux Romper
My favorite way to wear the Lyla is to tie it in front to make it fitted and cropped. The video above shows my trick in tying tops. I paired my faux romper with white Superga sneakers that I found secondhand! The low profile on Supergas make it easy to wear with most outfits.

Outfit 3: Versatile Tops
The key to getting more out of your closet is having versatile designs that can be worn forwards and backwards. The Lyla has both a high neckline with a scoop back that can be worn either way. We don’t include the label in the back so you can choose how you’d like to wear it!

Outfit 4: The Playsuit
This is my summer power outfit. There is something about wearing a matching set that feels like a boss. Once you add a button-up shirt, it takes this outfit to a whole other level! Wear it tied for a cropped look, fully tucked in, or half-tucked.

Outfit 5: How Many Ways Can I Wear Thee?
This series should also be called how many times can I wear the Lyla and Papaya shorts together. I’m wearing the new oat striped seersucker Lyla with the black Papaya shorts. The combination is simple yet timeless. Exactly what I need in my life right now.
Outfit 6: Date Night
This outfit is perfect for any date night you may have right now. It’s comfortable enough to wear in the living room or outdoors for a picnic. The Free Label Frannie wrap top can be worn multiple ways, but my favorite is with the wrap in back. Paired with the Papaya shorts in black and statement shoes, I’m ready for my living room date!
Watch the video below to see my outfits in action and how I tie both the Lyla and Pomelo shirts.
