Several weeks ago, I was asked by the Ethical Writer’s Coalition, a group of bloggers/journalists who write about ethical and sustainable living, to submit photos of a sustainable outfit that will be showcased the same week as New York Fashion Week. These photos are a way to show others that you can have great style with ethically made clothes.
Since I only buy clothes that were ethically made, it wasn’t too hard finding an outfit for these photos. I wanted an outfit that I don’t normally wear on my blog because I wanted these photos to resemble an outfit you would see during New York Fashion Week.
The coral jumpsuit and green fur coat were both thrifted items I found on my birthday shopping trip. I bought the coral jumpsuit from Crossroads Trading Co. and the green coat from ACTS thrift store in Pasadena. What you may not notice is that the coral jumpsuit is pants! My number one priority is usually comfort so this jumpsuit is pretty perfect. I can’t wait to wear it to a wedding or other special event.
And for my favorite photo that wasn’t included in the #stylestories15 campaign because it was too blurry..
I’m so glad the Ethical Writer’s Coalition is doing this type of campaign because many people associate ethically made clothes with either too expensive or ugly. I hope this is the first of many campaigns that show people you don’t have to compromise your style to wear clothes that were made by individuals given fair living wages.
