Since meeting J, we’ve been to six weddings in the past three years. I know that isn’t a lot, but when it comes to wedding attire, it sure adds up. Now that I only shop eco-friendly, American made or secondhand, it is even more difficult to find dresses for weddings.
My sister bought me this green dress four years ago for a banquet we attended in Florida. I hadn’t worn it since because it didn’t fit, but knew I had to try and use it again. Luckily, I haven’t gained the weight I lost for my wedding last year and the dress fit well. Although I’m not going to lie, the dress was a little snug by the end of the night. Either way, I’m glad I got use out of a pretty dress I haven’t worn in years.
I’m really enjoying being sustainable with my clothes because I have more of a minimalist approach. I only buy what I really need if I don’t have anything in my closet that will work. I am re-wearing dresses I’ve had for years, but making sure to wear them with different people or different events. After all, I’m still a girl who doesn’t like wearing the same outfit with the same people at an event 😉
